How Much Do You REALLY Love Your Apps?

Nowadays there is an app for almost everything. From tweeting to tumblr-ing, checking the weather to whether or not your sports team won. 

The app store is bursting at the seams with hundreds of millions of apps and thousands more are being added every day. But how do we make sense of this cacophony of choice? Magazines and websites are often diving in to the deepest recesses of the app store to find that little diamond amongst the coal that is the app you need. Now the Internet is filled with articles outlining the best apps on each platform, apps that can set you back a few dollars or even some that won’t cost you a dime.

Smartphones have become our digital Swiss Army® Knives filled with an array of goodies that help make our lives easier, better manage our tasks or simply help us escape reality for a bit and have fun. We all have apps that we simply can’t imagine living without because somehow they make our lives better, streamline a process, or simply keep us connected.  Having apps that increase productivity are a no-brainer, but if they were no longer free and the precious apps that you now you spend hours on, had a fee, would you still have them on your phone?

You probably have a fair amount of these apps on your phone right now. What I wonder is, do you have them because they are free?
